As a relatively new photographer, I've always shied away from doing portrait work. Art photography is more in keeping with my personality and interests and doesn't come with the pressures or demands that individuals who care about family pics place on the photographer.

That was then, this is now. I think it is important to continue to grow and move forward. That having been said, here is my first attempt at portraits. Though I don't anticipate becoming a portrait, wedding or studio artist, I definately want those tools in my box should I ever need them.

What do you think?

An acquaintance asked me if I had anything from Alton, IL. Not only didn't I have anything from there, I wasn't sure what was there at all. So I set out to find out and came back with these. Easily the most noteable landmark in the area is the Clark bridge which is significantly featured here. I plan to go back to this quiet community and see what else the lens finds so stay tuned...

These are just a few imges from a recent trip to San Francisco. Unfortunately a long desired trip up the Pacific Coast Highway did not feature the cooperation of the weather. Fog, mist and rain were the order of the day. But one makes the best of things and these are those.
